60 lines Nipkow disc machine with synchronous motor.
Made by Roger DUPOUY . Sold July 2011.

Characteristics:
On this machine, the Nipkow scanning disc is driven by a US synchronous motor, a vintage TELETYPE made by General Electric in Chicago (Illinois) around 1935.
This motor designed for the 60Hz/110 volts US power, tends to overheat on a 50Hz/110 volts power.
So, a cooling fan has been put at the back to protect the motor, even if the vintage design may suffer from this.
